3 Key Ways to Take Back Control
RE-
If we have learned anything this year, it’s we can’t always control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to it. There are 3 key ways to take control back of a situation when life happens and plans change.
RE-set:
- Think about what goals you had in place and then determine which ones you are still able to pursue. Update those goals to reflect your current reality and circumstances. Write what small steps you can take toward attainability and include any schedule changes required. Take it one step at a time to advance toward reaching your new plan.
RE-focus:
- When you hit a wall and need a break it is usually because we need to make small shifts in our daily habits to get the most out of our day-to-day. For example, take a walk to clear your head or a jog to sweat off any negativity. Add a positive podcast or book into your media routine. Prioritizing your personal health always helps you feel physically and mentally stronger. If you have a friend who also wants to re-focus their routine, connect with them and take the re-set journey together.
RE-center:
- As you continue down self-care remember you need to have yourself in good shape to be able to assist others. When you take time for self-care you have more energy to support those around you. Adding self-care to your schedule can be as easy as journaling down your thoughts and experiences which can unload stress. Take a personal day even when working remotely to go offline. Whatever you do with that time try to make it something you love and will re-charge and re-energize you. And last but definitely not least, sleep is one of the most neglected yet most important self-care activities.
